Take a break

‘Take a break.’ It’s a piece of advice we just spit out and yet taking a real break from your daily routine is so essential for the mind. We need to take it often, in doses, like medication. It’s a prescription to release the troublesome knot that begins to tighten. An antidote to an anxious, stressed persona.

Embark yourself into new territory once in a while. Leave behind the everyday cumbersome routine for something offbeat. Leave it all behind; your daily timetable, the sound of your morning wake up call, the need for winding down at the end of a busy day and the pressure to catch up again. Try freeing your exhausted mind from the endless entanglement and from the people you need to please. Leave it all behind for some time and watch what happens.

Not often enough, we try to break the cycle, but we do it for an hour or a day. One must really take a break for some days or weeks even. It’s very much needed but we hesitate, not because we can’t execute but because we become apprehensive to the world that might slow down if we were to leave it behind for too long. The disconnect from your usual surroundings helps clear the fog that has been building up in your head and as it clears the mind relaxes. The daily grind, the chores and races we run each day suddenly come to a halt and you find yourself pondering meaningless worries.

When one travels away, one begins to elucidate. Embarking on new shores opens up a wealth of raw, unprocessed thoughts. The new escape and the vibrant surroundings will help to unravel the anxious mind. Novel people and a refreshed landscape will allow you to untangle the trauma of toil . It’s amazing how the invigorated soul processes when unfamiliar territory sets in and new lessons transpire. There will always be a connection to the homeland and you won’t forget the solace.

As you sink deeper into the getaway the load lightens with ease just enough that you can find your way back if need be. If your surroundings are completely new it takes less time and makes for an easier transition into alleviation. Is it the course of a less traveled timetable or perhaps the restored palette? Whatever the case, you’re traveling a road to a cure and a destination of rejuvenation.

This planet holds so much to see, so much to experience and once you taste the sweetness of this escape, you will acquire a remedy for your fatigued mind. Before you know it you will be ready to take on that grind once again and once again, but not for sometime, you will come back to this same space. The unconventional, for another dose of reassurance that a break is much needed medication for the mind.
